MATERIAL & CARE GUIDE
At NICHOLETTE-A, we continue to be meticulous in not only hand-selecting high quality imported real leathers and materials that will last, but also ensuring each product is finished in careful detail.
Box Leather
Box Leather is a coated top-grain leather with a smooth, polished finish. To prevent this leather from developing marks, we recommend avoiding exposure to abrasive surfaces and always taking care to store the item properly in its dust bag when not in use.
Nappa Leather
Nappa Leather is a smooth, refined durable leather that is built for daily use and resistant to gentle surface stains. Most gentle surface stains can be removed by gently wiping with a clean damp cloth, followed by a dry cloth.
White Nappa Leather
Worried about white? Our Nappa Leather in White is a smooth, refined and durable leather. While color transfer may occur due to exposure to dark denim or other dark fabrics with loose dye, most gentle surface stains can still be removed by gently wiping with a clean damp cloth, followed by a dry cloth. Additionally, you can purchase a leather cleaner and conditioner like Bickmore.
Patent Leather
Our Patent Leather is a coated top-grain leather with a smooth, glossy finish. Scuffs or marks are easy to care for with a clean damp cloth as the finish is relatively water resistant. With this leather we recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to hot temperatures and storing the item inside its dust bag. Avoid contact with loose dyes as Patent can absorb foreign dye or ink.
Hardware
Our hardware and YKK zippers are made from durable and corrosion resistant alloys used widely across the industry in both steel and gunmetal finishes.
Lining
We use high quality linings to add the right amount of durability and structural support to an overall design. Based on the style, we appropriately select from PU leather, microsuede, or grosgrain that are all easy to use and deter dye transference.
GENERAL CARE
We want your bag to be well-loved, however any bag is prone to occasional scratching if not handled with proper care. To prevent the leather from developing marks, we recommend avoiding exposure to abrasive surfaces. When not in use, we suggest storing the item properly in its dust bag and and gently packing the interior to help maintain its form. For lighter colors, most gentle surface stains can be removed with a clean damp cloth, however we recommend avoiding exposure to dark denim or other dark fabrics with loose dye when possible, as the leather could be subject to color transfer. You can also try Bickmore's leather cleaner and conditioner.
